+(KR)ystal Eyes (Hangul: 크리스탈아이즈), is the second sub-unit of tripleS. The unit was formed through the First Grand Gravity and debuted with members Yoon SeoYeon, Lee JiWoo, Kim ChaeYeon and Kim SooMin on May 4, 2023, with their mini album, AESTHETIC.
History[]
2022: Formation[]
On September 16, tripleS' first gravity event, First Grand Gravity, was announced. Two four membered dimensions (sub-units) were created, Acid Angel from Asia, and +(KR)ystal Eyes. Between the 22nd-25th, voting was held on cosmo, with SeoYeon, SooMin, ChaeYeon and JiWoo being selected as KRE's lineup.
2023: Debut with AESTHETIC, Music Show ban & Touch+ promotions[]
On February 13, KRE made their first official appearance as a sub-unit at the ASSEMBLE Pre-concert, where they performed their demo version of dimension.
On March 17, KRE's debut was confirmed for the first week of May.[1]
The AESTHETIC album photoshoot took place on April 4[2], with the music video shoot taking place two days later on April 6.[3] Teasers began on April 18, starting with SooMin, followed by JiWoo, SeoYeon and ChaeYeon throughout the week. On April 29, the mv teaser for “Cherry Talk” was released with the announcement for their debut showcase, The Premier Stage: Cherry Show, following the next day.[4]
Initially, the “Cherry Talk” mv was scheduled to release on May 4, at 12:00AM (KST), with the album releasing digitally at 18:00PM (KST) the same day, however the mv ended up being delayed until 18:00PM,[5] then further delayed with no set time for its release.[6] It was finally released on May 5, at 21:00PM (KST).
On the same day, MODHAUS released a statement on the tripleS' official Discord, addressing the issues and delays regarding KRE's promotions, explaining that they had planned three weeks of promotion on live broadcast shows, however there would be none besides the initial M COUNTDOWN debut stage due to external forces restricting the promotions of tripleS and their ability to appear on live shows.[7]
Due to the lack of music shows, MODHAUS conducted in-house live stages and fancams for the members instead while they couldn't promote.
On June 22, a music video for the digital single, “Touch+”, a new version of the b-side, “Touch”, this time featuring member Park SoHyun, was released. From June 23, the music show ban was lifted and KRE were able to perform “Touch” on music shows.[8]
Concept[]

+(KR)ystal Eye's concept revolves around communication, specifically digital communication; which is presented in the 'Cherry Talk' M/V through the fictional texting app of the same name. Although the members are seen in different locations from one another, ie: SeoYeon in the car with her younger brother, ChaeYeon in her bedroom, SooMin at a calligraphy class and JiWoo at school, they all feel as if they are right next to each other whilst communicating through texts and face-time. +(KR)ystal Eyes seems to represent the High-teen, Gen Z youth of today and whilst not completely paralleling Acid Angel from Asia, the unit has a much more refreshing, white angel/fairy image that juxtaposes AAA's dark angel and rebellious portrayal.
