History[]
2024: Formation & Debut[]
On February 2, tripleS's Spotify description was updated to include information about the group's Japanese debut in 2024.[1]
On May 10, tripleS's official Japan X account was opened and an article was released stating that MODHAUS would be collaborating with SME Records, Stream Media Corporation and Ligareaz to manage the activities of the group in Japan.[2] It was also announced a week later that tripleS would be debuting and meeting fans in the third quarter of the year.[3]
On June 13, in SIGNAL #528, the upcoming units, Visionary Vision and Japan dimension (Tentative Name) were announced. Prior to the selection of the members, an event gravity took place for fans to vote for if members should be allowed to voice their opinions on the ongoing gravity or not, with the result ending in favor of members speaking without restriction.[4] On July 18, Mayu and ShiOn were pre-selected as members by MODHAUS before voting began.[5] From July 20 until August 20, voting for two of the last six remaining members took place on Lemino's website, accessible to Japanese residents only. YooYeon and Kotone were announced as the next two members in the lineup on August 25.[6] From August 26-28, the last four members of the unit were chosen through Cosmo: ChaeYeon and SooMin on day 1, and JiWoo and ChaeWon on day 2.
On September 4, an article was released confirming the Japan Dimension's debut in the second half of the year.[7] On September 14, during tripleS' first Japanese showcase, the Japanese dimension's official unit name was revealed to be Hatchi, stylised as ∞!, meaning "eight" in Japanese. Their debut date was also revealed to be slated for November 20, with the single album, Untitled.
On October 18, the title track, “Untitled” was aired a month in advance on TOKYO FM's [POP-K TOP10 Friday] Broadcast.
On November 18, the music video for “Untitled” was released, with the digital and physical releasing two days later on the 20th.
