Jeong HaYeon (Hangul: 정하연) is a South Korean idol and the nineteenth revealed member of tripleS. She was revealed as S19 on December 23, 2023.
HaYeon made her sub-unit debut on December 23, 2023, tripleS' fifth sub-unit, NXT, and the non-promoted release, “Just Do It”. She made her official debut on May 8, 2024, with tripleS' first studio album, ASSEMBLE24, and the title track, “Girls Never Die”.
She is a member of the sub-unit, NXT.
History[]
Early life[]
HaYeon was born as Jeong HaYeon (정하연) on August 1, 2007 in South Korea. At some point, while pursuing a career as an idol, she joined Flat9, a K-Pop training academy, and became a student there. It is currently unknown when she passed the auditions for MODHAUS and became a small s, but it's speculated to have been early to mid 2023.[1]
2023: Reveal & NXT activities[]
On October 31, a teaser titled tripleS NEXT was released, featuring the announcement of four new members; S17, S18, S19 and S20. On November 8, in SIGNAL #393, it was confirmed that S17-S20 were practicing together, though unknown what for. On November 22, a dijkstra theory photo consisting of the hands of S17-S20 was released.[2]
On December 11, an official image teaser titled "tripleS NXT" was released featuring S17-S24. Three days later on December 14, a video teaser was also released. On December 23, In an article about the release of NXT's single, "Just Do It", HaYeon and ShiOn's names were mentioned before their official reveals, including their positions, confirming HaYeon as an all rounder, both good at vocals and dance.[3] She was then revealed as the group's nineteenth member through her official photo reveal on December 23, three hours after the release of "Just Do It".[4] Her video teaser released five days later on December 28.[5]
2024: Seoul Tour, Debut[]
On January 22, HaYeon officially moved into the HAUS and became roommates with HyeRin, ChaeYeon and Kotone.
On February 4, she along with the rest of NXT participated in the second and final day of the <Authentic> Tour in Seoul.
In May 8, she will make her official debut with the OT24 album, ASSEMBLE24.
