JiYeon (Hangul: 지연) is a South Korean idol and the 24th revealed member of tripleS. She was revealed as S24 on April 4, 2024.
JiYeon made her debut on May 8, 2024, with tripleS' first studio album, ASSEMBLE24, and the title track, “Girls Never Die”. She made her official sub-unit debut in tripleS' seventh sub-unit, Glow, with their digital single, “Inner Dance”.
She is a member of the sub-units, Glow, Visionary Vision and moon.
History[]
Early life[]
JiYeon was born Ji Suh-yeon (지서연) in 2004 in South Korea. Previous to joining tripleS, she was a competitive ballerina. At some point, whilst pursuing an idol career, she joined the K-Pop training academy, Flat9, and became a student there. It is currently unknown when she passed the auditions for MODHAUS, but it's speculated to have been between late 2023 to 2024.[1] She also made an appearance on Sohyang's (feat YDG) “BLESSING” Music Video as a ballerina under the name Ji SeoYeon in January 2024.
2024: Reveal, Debut & Visionary Vision[]
On March 21, Blind Double Class Objekts were announced for the last remaining members. Fans were able to purchase a DCO of each small s's handwriting from the 21st to 24th, that would later turn into an Objekt of the member when they were revealed.[2] On March 24, SIGNAL #485 was released, confirming S21-24 had already met with the twenty other members on March 18 at the Gapyeong HAUS, and were already working together for the upcoming OT24 debut.
On March 28, S24's teaser drop was released.[3] On April 4, Ji SuhYeon was revealed as the group's 24th and final member through her introductory video.[4] On the same day, it was announced that a gravity would take place to determine her stage name, as her name held the same pronunciation as SeoYeon's in Korean.[5] On April 7, SuhYeon's stage name was determined as 'JiYeon' through the Stage Name Event Gravity.
On May 8, she made her official debut with tripleS first studio album, ASSEMBLE24, and the title track, “Girls Never Die”.
On June 18, JiYeon was determined as a member of the sub-unit, Visionary Vision, through the Visionary Vision Grand Gravity. She debuted with the sub-unit and their studio album, Performante, with the title track "Hit the Floor", on October 23.
On June 21, she debuted with tripleS' eighth sub-unit, Glow, with the digital single, "Inner Dance".
2025: ASSEMBLE25, Alphie, moon debut[]
On May 12, JiYeon made her comeback with tripleS' second studio album, ASSEMBLE25, and the title track, "깨어 (Are You Alive)".
From September 3 to 22, together with Alphie, JiYeon embarked on the tripleS Alphie Alpha Percent World Tour.
On September 5, JiYeon was determined as a member of the sub-unit moon, through the msnz Grand Gravity. She debuted with this subunit on November 24 with the single "Cameo Love" from the mini-album Beyond Beauty.
