Kim ChaeYeon (Hangul: 김채연) is a South Korean idol under MODHAUS and the fourth revealed member of tripleS. She was revealed as S4 on June 22, 2022.

ChaeYeon made her debut on February 13, 2023, with tripleS' first mini album, ASSEMBLE, and the title track “Rising”. She made her official sub-unit debut in tripleS' second sub-unit, +(KR)ystal Eyes, with their mini album, AESTHETIC, and the title, “Cherry Talk”.

She is a member of the sub-units, +(KR)ystal Eyes, ACID EYES, EVOLution, Aria and Hatchi.

History[]

Early life[]

ChaeYeon was born as Kim Chae-yeon (김채연) on December 4, 2004 in Mia-dong, Gangbuk, Seoul, South Korea. She started her career at four years old, debuting as a child actress in the movie, "Scandal Makers". In 2013, she made an appearance on MBC's drama, "The Queen's Classroom", SBS's drama "Ugly Alert" and tvN's drama "Fantasy Tower".

2014-2020: CutieL & Busters[]

In 2014, ChaeYeon made her debut with CutieL as a second generation member. That same year, she appeared in the movie "Tazza: The Hidden Card". ChaeYeon remained a member of CutieL until early 2017 when she left the group.

On November 27, 2017, she debuted as a member of Busters with the single "Dream On". On August 6, 2020, Marbling announced that Busters would go on hiatus and reorganise while members ChaeYeon, JiSoo and YeSeo would finish their activities with the group to focus on acting and other broadcasting activities in the near future.[1]

2022: Reveal & Activities[]

On June 15, S4's teaser drop image was released. The following day, a Naver news article was released reporting that the new member was ChaeYeon.[2] On June 22, ChaeYeon was officially revealed as the fourth member through her introductory teaser. On June 26, her "Welcome to the HAUS" teaser was released and she moved into the HAUS on June 29.

On September 23, she was determined as the third member of +(KR)ystal Eyes through the First Grand Gravity's vote.

2023: Debut, +(KR)ystal Eyes, EVOLution, AUS Tour & Aria Preparations[]

On February 13, ChaeYeon made her official debut with tripleS' first full group debut mini album, ASSEMBLE. She also participated in the group's first pre-concert of the same name held on the same day.

On April 23, ChaeYeon was determined as the second member of the sub-unit, EVOLution through the Fourth Gravity vote.

On May 4, ChaeYeon made her official sub-unit debut with +(KR)ystal Eyes and their mini album, AESTHETIC, with the title track, "Cherry Talk".

On October 11, ChaeYeon debuted with EVOLution and the mini album, , with the title track, "Invincible".

On November 24, ChaeYeon was determined as a member of the first ballad sub-unit, Aria, through the Ballad Dimension Grand Gravity.

From December 20 to December 23, ChaeYeon participated in the Australian leg of tripleS' first world tour along with the rest of the EVOLution members.

2024: Aria, <Authentic> in Seoul, ASSEMBLE24, Japan Dimension[]

On January 15, ChaeYeon debuted in her third and tripleS' sixth overall sub-unit, Aria, with their first single album, Structure of Sadness, and the title track, “Door”.

Between February 3-4, she participated in the Seoul leg of tripleS' first world tour, <Authentic>, alongside the first twenty revealed members of the group.

On May 8, ChaeYeon made her comeback with tripleS' first studio album, ASSEMBLE24, and the title, “Girls Never Die”.

On August 27, she was determined as a member of tripleS' Japanese sub-unit through the Japan Dimension Grand Gravity.
