Lynn (Hangul: 린) is a Japanese idol under MODHAUS and the seventeenth revealed member of tripleS. She was revealed as S17 on December 21, 2023.
Lynn made her sub-unit debut on December 23, 2023, with NXT and the non-promoted digital single, “Just Do It”. She made her official debut with tripleS' first studio album, ASSEMBLE24, and the title track, “Girls Never Die”, on May 8, 2024.
She is a member of the sub-units, NXT and Visionary Vision.
History[]
Early life[]
Lynn was born as Kawakami Rin (川上 凜) on April 12, 2006, in Tokyo, Japan.[1] She lived in China when she was a child.[2]
In March 2023, Lynn moved to South Korea after passing the MODHAUS online auditions in Japan. She also started attending Hanlim Multi Art School in April.[3]
2023: Reveal & NXT activities[]
On October 31, a teaser titled tripleS NEXT was released, featuring the announcement of four new members; S17, S18, S19 and S20. On November 8, in SIGNAL #393, it was confirmed that S17-S20 were practicing together, though unknown what for. On November 22, a dijkstra theory photo consisting of the hands of S17-S20 was released.[4]
On December 11, an official image teaser titled "tripleS NXT" was released featuring S17-S24. Three days later on December 14, a video teaser was also released. On December 21, Lynn was revealed as the group's seventeenth member through her official photo reveal.[5] Her video teaser was released on December 26.[6] In an article released about NXT's single, "Just Do It", it was confirmed that she was a main dancer.[7]
2024: Seoul Tour, Debut, Visionary Vision[]
On January 16, Lynn officially moved into the HAUS, becoming roommates with Kaede, Nien and Mayu.
On February 4, she participated in the Seoul leg of the <Authentic> Tour on the second and final day along with the rest of NXT.
On May 8, Lynn made her official debut with tripleS' first studio album, ASSEMBLE24, and the title track, "Girls Never Die".
On June 13, Lynn was pre-selected as a member of the sub-unit, Visionary Vision.
