The "MODU HAUS" is the ninth revealed HAUS. It was revealed simultaneously alongside the MOD Forest HAUS and the Cookie HAUS, and currently houses members Yoon SeoYeon, Kim SooMin, Seo DaHyun, Xinyu, JooBin, Sullin and JiYeon.
It is located in Seoul, South Korea.
Name Meaning[]
The MODU HAUS was previously named HAUS B up until SIGNAL #318, where the then current residents (consisting of everyone but JooBin & ShiOn) decided on the name "MODU HAUS", meaning "everything/everyone haus" (as MODU = All in Korean). It was also a play on MODHAUS.
History[]
The MODU HAUS was first revealed in SIGNAL #308 along with the MOD Forest HAUS and Cookie HAUS.
In SIGNAL WEEKLY #54, all three rooms of the HAUS were given their designated nicknames by its residents. The 4-Person Green Room was first named as the "SooDa Room" based on SooMin and DaHyun, its two residents, and how the room is a good room for chatting. JiWoo's Single Brown Room was given the name "GoJiBang," in which each syllable translates to "Lonely (Godokhan) JiWoo Room (Bang)". Finally, SeoYeon and Xinyu also combined their names for their 2-Person Blue Room to adopt the name "USeo Room," which also means "smile" (웃어) in Korean.
Later in SIGNAL #440, tripleS' maknae and 18th member JooBin finally moved into MODU HAUS as its sixth resident. She joined the room of SooMin and DaHyun, letting the rest of the residents rename their room by adding in JooBin's name. They came up and cheerily agreed with the room's new nickname, "BingSooDa" ("it's shaved ice"). A few days later in SIGNAL #444, S20 ShiOn moved into the HAUS as its final resident and joined the "BingSooDa Room," prompting DaHyun to suggest renaming their room by adding ShiOn's name. Hence, DaHyun wittily thought of "OnBingSooDa," meaning "it's hot shaved ice," much to the rest of her roommates' delight. However, as of SIGNAL #475, JooBin has updated that she and the rest of her roommates have agreed to reorder the syllable of their room name into "BinSooOnDa" ("Bingsoo is coming!") in response to the upcoming summer, the season when Bingsoo is a popular dessert in Korea.
After completing promotions for the OT24 debut, the members were granted the freedom to live outside of the HAUSES if they desired, one of them being JiWoo.
On an episode of a show, Omniscient Interfering View, it was revealed that the resident arrangement has been changed, with Sullin and JiYeon replacing JiWoo and ShiOn. SeoYeon moved to the Single Brown Room and DaHyun moved to the 2-Person Blue Room, joining Xinyu. The last two spaces in the 4-Person Green Room were filled by Sullin and JiYeon.[1] The current names of the rooms after the new arrangement is currently unknown.
